Pre Installation
- Set up a TrustVault account. To utilize the TrustVault integration with MetaMask, it is essential to first create a TrustVault account. This account will serve as the foundation for managing your Ethereum assets securely. For further details and assistance in setting up your account, please feel free to reach out to us.
- Add an Ethereum account. It is important to note that MetaMask is designed to support only Ethereum (ETH) and ERC20 tokens. After successfully establishing your TrustVault account, you will need to create an Ethereum wallet directly within the TrustVault application. This step is crucial to ensure that you can manage and transact with your Ethereum assets effectively.
- Disable the original MetaMask Chrome Extension from your browser. It is critical that you do not run both the TrustVault and MetaMask Chrome extensions simultaneously, as this can lead to conflicts and potential issues. To avoid such problems, please follow the instructions below carefully to disable the existing MetaMask extension and proceed with the installation of the TrustVault x MetaMask extension in its place.
Installation
- Begin by adding the TrustVault x MetaMask extension. You can find this extension in the Google Chrome extensions store. This extension will enable you to integrate your TrustVault account seamlessly with MetaMask.
-
Next, you should verify whether the MetaMask extension is already installed on your browser. You can do this by navigating to chrome://extensions if you are using Chrome, or brave://extensions if you are using the Brave Browser. Alternatively, you can access the extension options by clicking on the "WINDOW" menu in the navigation bar, as illustrated below:
-
Once you have accessed your existing Chrome extensions, locate the MetaMask extension within the list. To disable it, simply click on the toggle button associated with the extension. This action will ensure that the extension is no longer active in your browser, thus preventing any potential conflicts with the TrustVault extension.
-
After disabling the MetaMask extension, locate the TrustVault extension in your list of extensions. To activate it, click on the toggle button next to the TrustVault extension. This will enable the integration and allow you to begin using it in conjunction with MetaMask.
- Now, direct your attention to the top right corner of your Chrome browser where you will find the extension icons. Click on the TrustVault icon to get started. Following this, you will be guided through the setup process for your MetaMask wallet, which will allow you to manage your Ethereum assets effectively.
6. After clicking on the TrustVault icon, you will see an option labeled "Connect TrustVault." Click on this option, and you will be prompted to enter your TrustVault login credentials. This step is necessary to establish a connection between your TrustVault account and the MetaMask extension, allowing you to manage your Ethereum wallets seamlessly.
7. Upon successfully signing into your TrustVault account, you will be presented with a list of all your Ethereum wallets. Each wallet will be distinctly marked as "TRUSTVAULT," allowing you to easily identify and manage your assets from within the MetaMask interface.
