Migrating from TrustVault MetaMask Extension

In case you were previously using the TrustVault MetaMask extension, migrating to the TrustVault Snap can be done in two ways, depending on your previous usage:

MetaMask with only TrustVault accounts (simple)

If you have only used the TrustVault MetaMask extension to interact with TrustVault, and you have not received funds in a non-TrustVault MetaMask account, you can migrate simply by:

1. Uninstall TrustVault MetaMask extension from your browser.

2. Follow the steps in the Installing MetaMask section (create a new wallet).

3. Follow the steps in the Installing the Snap section.

MetaMask with both TrustVault and non-TrustVault accounts (advanced)

If you have used the TrustVault MetaMask extension to interact with TrustVault but have also received funds in non-TrustVault accounts (see picture above), you can migrate by:

1. Export TrustVault MetaMask extension recovery seed phrase

   1. Click on dots on the top right of the extension interface.

   2. Go to Settings -> Security & privacy.

   3. Click on Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase and follow the instructions until the phrase is revealed.

   4. Secure the recovery phrase (e.g. in a password manager).

2. Uninstall TrustVault MetaMask extension from your browser.

3. Follow the steps in the Installing MetaMask section (import an existing wallet and use the phrase you saved on step 1c).

4. Follow the steps in the Installing the Snap section.
